How to email a large video from iPhone

Gmail rejects attachments over 25 MB and many email providers are stricter, so a video from your iPhone often won't attach. You can shrink it so it does, or send it as a link. Here's how to do both.

Steps

  1. Open SendReady and tap Compress a video.
  2. Choose the video from Photos.
  3. Pick the 25 MB · Gmail target (or 10 MB for stricter providers).
  4. Tap Compress.
  5. Tap Share and choose Mail or Gmail — the video now attaches normally.

Option 2: send it as a link with Mail Drop

In Apple's Mail app, a too-large attachment can be sent with Mail Drop, which uploads it to iCloud and emails a download link (up to 5 GB, available for 30 days). It works, but the video leaves your phone and the recipient has to download it. Compressing keeps it as a normal attachment.

How to send a long video from iPhone

For long recordings, trim to the part that matters before compressing — every second you cut leaves more room for quality. If only the sound matters, like a lecture or a meeting, use Audio only (M4A); it's a fraction of the size.

Questions

What is Gmail's attachment size limit?

Gmail allows attachments up to 25 MB per email. Larger files are sent as Google Drive links instead.

Why won't my iPhone video attach to an email?

It's bigger than your email provider allows. Compress it under the limit — 25 MB for Gmail — or send it with Mail Drop.

Does the recipient need SendReady?

No. They receive an ordinary MP4 video.
